This was 30 years ago, and I was only 11 but I remember it like yesterday. The weather was horrible as
you can see, and the Iona had been trying to get alongside Gourock pier for ages, with little success
Along came the KGV and berthed first time, perfectly. I thought it was funny that a ‘new’ boat was so easily
bettered by an ageing old lady.
